Sixth Skating Lesson with My Daughter
We went to the ice rink yesterday with buses as usually. It's very hot these days and people are in vacation. Ice Rinks have more population.
We had planned ten-times skating lesson and it was sixth. We spent one and a half hour in there with a couple of 10-minute breaks.
First, I let her practice:
- forward swizzle
- alternating march forward and swizzle
- swizzle and two foot glide
- one foot glide
And I newly taught her:
- half swizzles
- push and recovery
- alternating half swizzles
- snowplow stop not moving forward
I believe that I lead her with optimal progress and proper but not too much pressure. But she was not so pleasant with skating and I also was irritated. The lesson turned to be hard for her with dropping tears.
I never expected the situation because I consider myself a very kind teacher. I tried not to be embarrassed or upset. I skated for a while alone think that I want to care her as well as not to make her weak that time. Then I came to her and suggested her gently to complete the rest of the lesson and then discuss of it and she agreed.
We have summarized of push-and-recovery for a few minutes and took off the skates. We went to the snack bar where we can look down the ice. She said that the progress was too hard for her. And I said that she has been doing well and I don't want no more fast-learning. We agreed to make one session consist of one-hour lesson and 30-minutes free practice.
We stopped by a beautiful cafe where both of us love. We ate and drank reading comics.
